Katsuki Bakugo

"Damn it, stay awake!" Bakugo barked desperately, voice hoarse from shouting as he cradled your body tightly. Anguish filled his crimson eyes, but anger masked his fear. Blood dripped steadily from your side, staining his shaking hands.

"…Katsuki," you whispered weakly, reaching slowly for his face.

"Don't you dare!" He choked on his own words, furious tears clouding his vision. "You're not allowed to leave me, you hear? You’re gonna keep fighting!"

Your fingers softly brushed his cheek, your thumb catching a tear he hadn't realized escaped. "I'm sorry... I couldn't—"

"No," he interrupted, voice cracking painfully. His facade broke entirely as he clutched you desperately, burying his face against your hair. "Please… I need you. Damn it—I love you!"

But your breathing had already stilled, leaving him gripping your lifeless form, screams of grief and fury echoing into the empty sky.

Tamaki Amajiki

Tamaki knelt on the ground, trembling violently as he held your fragile form, eyes wide with helpless fear. "N-no, please, please don't—" His voice was barely audible, quivering with panic as tears streamed down his pale face.

Your eyes met his gently, sadness filling them as you offered a faint smile. "Tamaki… please don't cry."

He shook his head frantically, softly sobbing. "I… I can't do this without you. You're my strength—I can't lose you…"

Weakly, you raised your hand, gently cupping his tear-streaked face. "You’re stronger than you think, Tama… I'll always… believe in you."

His heart shattered as your eyes slowly slipped closed, your hand dropping limply from his cheek. Tamaki desperately tried to hold onto you, his voice breaking with grief as he whispered, "Please come back… I can't bear this world without you."

Hitoshi Shinso

Shinso’s grip on you tightened, panic surging behind his usually calm expression. His violet eyes were wild with fear, voice tense and pleading. "Stay awake for me, alright? Talk to me, just—keep your eyes open."

You weakly smiled, feeling his heartbeat racing beneath your fingertips. "I'm sorry, toshi… I messed up."

"No, don't apologize," he murmured desperately, his voice trembling despite his efforts to remain calm. "You didn't mess up. You never mess up. Just hold on a bit longer, okay?"

Your vision blurred as you whispered softly, "I love you."

His breath caught, the words he'd wanted to hear so many times now slicing through him painfully. "I—I love you too," he choked out, tears streaming down his face, dripping onto your fading features as your breath stilled. He sat there numbly, clutching you close, feeling a part of himself disappear alongside you.

Eijiro Kirishima

Kirishima knelt beside you, holding you protectively against his chest, eyes wide with frantic disbelief. "Hey, c'mon, you’re stronger than this!" His voice wavered as his usual optimism crumbled under the weight of grief. "Stay tough—you're gonna be alright!"

Weakly, you managed a smile, your fingertips gently brushing his jaw. "Eiji… thank you for always believing in me."

His heart clenched painfully, tears filling his crimson eyes. "Of course I believe in you—always have, always will. So just stay with me!"

"I'm sorry… I couldn’t…" Your voice faded softly, eyes slipping closed.

"Eiji?" you whispered softly one last time, as your hand slipped from his grasp.

Kirishima froze, the silence suddenly deafening. "No—wait, please, just one more second!" He shook uncontrollably, tears streaming freely down his cheeks as he held you tightly, unable to accept the harsh reality that you'd already left him behind.

Mezo Shoji

Shoji knelt beside you, his arms gently cradling your weakening body, desperately shielding you from further harm. His normally stoic demeanor shattered, replaced by visible anguish in his eyes.

"Hold on," his deep voice pleaded softly, barely above a whisper. "Help will be here soon. Just hold on."

You weakly grasped one of his trembling hands, meeting his gaze lovingly. "Mezo… I'm glad I got to love you."

His eyes filled with sorrow, shaking his head slowly. "Please don't speak as though you're saying goodbye… I can't lose you."

You smiled faintly, your grip loosening. "Thank you for protecting me, always…"

Shoji’s heart shattered, grief carving deep into his chest as your eyes slipped closed. He held you tightly, murmuring broken apologies into the silence, unable to accept he'd failed the one person he loved most.

Fumikage Tokoyami

Tokoyami cradled you gently, desperately trying to remain composed, but his breathing trembled as tears threatened his dark eyes. Dark Shadow hovered anxiously, quiet and somber, sensing Tokoyami’s profound grief.

"Stay with me," he whispered urgently, brushing hair gently from your face. "You cannot be overtaken by darkness… not like this."

You looked up at him weakly, your gaze filled with tender reassurance. "It’s okay Fumi, I'm not afraid… you're here."

His composure faltered, tears finally escaping. "But I am afraid—afraid of losing you. Don't leave me in the dark."

Your fingers brushed his cheek gently, eyes slowly fluttering closed. "You were always my brightest light…"

He trembled violently as your breathing stilled, Dark Shadow letting out a mournful cry as Tokoyami clutched you desperately, quietly sobbing into the encroaching darkness that now felt emptier than ever.

Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu

Tetsutetsu clung to you desperately, his usually fearless expression replaced by raw fear and panic. "Hey! C'mon, toughen up! You can't leave like this!" he shouted, voice trembling despite his attempt to sound strong.

Your eyes slowly opened, filled with gentle warmth as you weakly smiled up at him. "Tetsu… you're always so brave. I'm glad you’re here."

He choked back a sob, shaking his head frantically. "I'm not brave—I’m terrified of losing you. Please… just hold on."

Your fingertips gently touched his face, voice growing weaker. "I'm sorry… guess I wasn't strong enough."

"No, no—you're stronger than anyone I know," he pleaded desperately, but your eyes had already drifted closed, breathing fading away gently.

Tetsutetsu screamed in grief, clutching your lifeless form tightly against his chest, unable to stop the flood of tears as he realized he'd lost the one strength he needed most.

Characters With White Hair Have Mutated Quirks

Right what it says on the tin. I have a theory that white hair is a sign of a quirk mutation i.e. someone with a quirk completely unrelated to the hereditary genes they should have gotten their quirk from. This is not the same as a merged quirk, where the power from the child is unique but comes from combining both of the child's hereditary genes. Those quirks can come with their own issues but they aren't completely out of left field given who the parents are.

Eri

This one is self explanatory. It's outright stated that Eri's rewind quirk is unnatural; it's where we're first introduced to the concept of mutated quirks. And her hair has always been naturally white.

All For One and Yoichi

It's established by the narrative that All For One and Yoichi are the first two babies born with what would be considered a quirk by modern standards. Most notably though, both are completely different from spike-like growths their mother had.

Now, because this hasn't been animated yet, it's unclear if their mother has white hair herself or just lightly colored hair but either one doesn't debunk this idea in itself. If her hair is different then both twins have a clear mutation, and if it's the same then her growths could be its own mutation. The series does explicitly mention that their mother was exhibiting a premature quirk an entire two years before quirks as we know them were discovered so clearly there was something different about her.

Shoji

This one is also clearly stated as being a mutation, and it makes sense. Shoji's environment growing up was so hostile to heteromorphic quirks to such a degree that he was violently beat and chased out of his village. If his parents had similar quirks, or any kind of physical mutation for that matter, I doubt they would have survived long enough for Mezo to be born.

The Todoroki-Himura family

This one is the hardest to justify because it's not just one case, it's at least six. Geten, Rei, Touya, Fuyumi, Natsu, and Shoto all have 50% or more white hair. It's very clearly a genetic trait here.

But Rei's genetics specifically are already questionable.

It's stated by Geten that the Himura's have a history of marrying within the family. While details are minimal, if this cycle of incest has been going on for several generations at this point, it's possible that the very ice quirk Enji sought out was a mutation due to the Himura's unstable genetics. It's not a particularly odd or destructive quirk like other, confirmed, mutations, but it is surprisingly dominant and pervasive.

All four Todoroki children have some aspect of this ice quirk, suggesting that the hair color and the quirk are linked.

Touya is also one of the only people in the series born to be unsuited for his quirk. While concepts like the Quirk Doomsday Theory apply more broadly, that theory defines quirks too powerful for the body they host, not a body so genetically twisted that they inherently can't use their ability. Touya's hair also changes in hue over time in a way very unnatural to any other character in the series, as if Rei's genetics are spreading like a virus.

While marrying Enji instead of one of her cousins did diversify the genetic pool of the kids to a degree I still am willing to believe there is some significant damage to their genetic line from all of the Himura's inbreeding and the clearest sign of that is in the ice quirk.

Shigaraki

This one is an interesting case because Tomura's hair actually changes with the appearance of "his" quirk. Keep in mind for this part that the desaturated light blue that Tomura is typically depicted with is an error on the part of the early anime staff since the only color images of Tomura at the time had blue lighting. From the start it was intended to be white. Note that he's already being drawn with white hair in the hideout raid arc.

Up to this point, everyone with a mutated quirk has been born with white hair but Tenko wasn't. His hair turned from black to white after his decay manifested. Keep in mind though, decay was not his original quirk.

While we don't know what the initial quirk was (I personally choose to believe it was float or airwalk) he was born with one naturally before All For One took it and replaced it with Decay. Decay is also a copied and modified version of Overhaul, which we know ISN'T a mutation quirk.

Essentially, All For One artificially mutated Overhaul, and the resulting quirk caused the same physical changes that natural mutations do. The quirk itself is the source of the mutation, so passing on a mutated quirk causes the same physical changes as being born with one.

What about AFO/OFA?

Obviously both All For One (the quirk) and One For All's original form have the ability to pass quirks to others and we've seen over a dozen different people take quirks from both of these processes and not see any changes to their hair pigment.

While being given a quirk you weren't intended to hold is unnatural it's also not technically mutagenic. Giving and taking quirks is a natural process for both AFO and OFA so while the creations of these quirks were a mutation, their intended use is not.

One For All specifically stocks and absorbs the quirks from the users. It latches onto the quirks that are already there or takes up that place where a quirk would have been in the cases of All Might and Midoriya. All For One meanwhile is playing with pre-established quirks. Unless the quirk itself is carrying a mutated strain of DNA, it wouldn't affect the one being given said quirk.

There are holes in this, namely that ED6 shows Eri's mother with her hair style/texture but at the same time anime-orginal additions are difficult to weigh since we don't know if something that insignificant got author approval. It could also be a matter of all mutants have white hair but not all white haired characters are mutants. Either way I don't think this was an intended pattern by Horikoshi, just an interesting way to spin it.

✩ he wouldn’t mind listening to you rant though, he’s more of a listener anyways.

✩ if he finds that the hot spring just isn’t quite hot enough, he’ll use his quirk to make it warmer.

✩ doesn’t stare at your body out of respect, dating or not.

kirishima

✩ he’s just happy to be spending time with you.

✩ would enjoy having deep talks with you here.

✩ if you voice being insecure about your body in front of him, he’ll be quick to shut it down.

"H-Hold on..." He said, staring up at you shyly. He'd always had the softest spot for you and no matter how confident he could be, no matter how resilient- he never could tell you no. That's what had him sitting on his own bedroom floor with you in his lap, kissing down his jaw without any shame for knowing neither had confessed yet.

"Sh-Shouldn't we talk about this first...?" He asked weakly, swallowing thickly as his head rolled to the side to give you more room. This felt so taboo, and yet he had no intent to stop it. "Hey..." He shuddered while your lips brushed his throat, but his palms stayed planted on the floor.

He could never pinpoint what it was about you that made him so shy. Maybe it was you dazzling smile or the mischievous glint your eyes would have when you had an idea that would get him in trouble. Kinda like right now. You were smirking at him for above, peppering his face with kisses, giggling at his blushed cheeks and furrowed brows.

"I'm seriou- ahh..." He sighed, melting when your lips brushed the shell of his ear. Your playful giggle rang in his ears as he tried to muster the willpower to stop you, to make you talk things out with him. "W-Wait, please-" He begged, trembling under your touch, but his arms betrayed him, pulling you closer instead of pushing you away. "Just talk to me, you know I hate it when you get all cryptic..."

"What would you like me to say, big guy?" You finally mused, breath hot on his ear.

"That you like me...?" He confessed with red cheeks. "T-That you keep kissing on me because you want be my..." He didn't have the heart to finish his thought, the embarrassment becoming too much to bare.

"Oh, but I do like you..." You smirk deviously. "And I do want to be whatever it is you want me to be." You didn't miss how his infectious, dopey grin cracked across his face at your confirmation. "There's that cute smile..." You giggled, settling back into his lap as he melted against your touch like butter in a pan. "Now, where where we?"
